Lung Health Program

The Lung Health Program at the Alliston Family Health Team is designed to support patients living with asthma and/or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), as well as their caregivers.

Our program focuses on education, self-management, and collaboration, with the goal of improving quality of life and helping patients feel confident in managing their lung health.

Program Services Include:

  • Spirometry (breathing tests) to diagnose and assess lung function
  • Medication and inhaler education, including proper technique
  • Personalized asthma and COPD action plans to support self-management
  • Referral to Smoking Cessation supports, when appropriate
  • Referral to our Nordic Pole Walking Program, a group-based exercise program designed to strengthen lung health and overall fitness
